Ehsan Kaykhah | KAY

The mark

I didn't invent KAY. I discovered it.

  • A name from my identity.
  • A wing from Sistan.
  • A philosophy for the work ahead.

KAY was never meant to be just a logo. It was already there.

Hidden inside my name — Kaykhah. Rooted in a land I come from — Sistan. And, eventually, revealed through a symbol that had been carrying a much older story — the Simorgh.

Long before KAY became a brand, “Kay” belonged to the language of Iranian epic tradition. It appears in the names of the Kayanian kings — a lineage woven deeply into the cultural imagination of Iran.

But for me, the story became personal when I discovered something even more powerful: the symbol I was looking for had already been woven into the land I came from.

In Sistan, the Simorgh — the legendary bird of Persian mythology — found its way from story into everyday life, appearing in traditional rugs and woven patterns. And one particular rug changed the way I saw my own identity.

The Simorgh of Sistan became the source of the KAY mark. Three ascending strokes were lifted from the geometry of its wing.

Not redrawn.

Not invented from scratch.

Discovered.

The result is a mark that can be read in two ways at once: a wing in flight, and the letter K. That duality is the heart of KAY.

Because the work I do is not simply about making brands look better. It is about helping people see what is already there — the idea, the opportunity, the story, the direction — and giving it enough clarity and structure to move forward.

In the Shahnameh, the Simorgh is not simply a mythical creature. She appears when someone needs wisdom, protection or a way forward. A guide when the path is unclear.

The role I want it to play

  • For founders building something meaningful.

  • For brands searching for distinction.

  • For leaders standing at the edge of their next chapter.

I don't believe the strongest brands are invented from nothing. I believe they are discovered — in your history, in your contradictions, in your culture, in the things only you can say.

KAY is my attempt to do exactly that: to take something deeply rooted in where I come from, and give it a direction toward where I am going.

From a name.To a mark.From a mark.To a philosophy.

KAY is not just what I call the brand. It is how I choose to work.
